July 3, 2009 Happy Early July the Fourth! My most recent art is over at Deviant art...lots of new art. New art for future pin-up book that I will be self publishing. Still going strong on the Key. Will put an update on it soon....changing up the layout of the website a bit...check them out, easier to navigate. To be truthful I just need to overhaul the site!
June 7 , 2009 Pssttt.....it's coming! The Key #2! More details on it later...enjoy the "in progress" cover! June 4 , 2009 Zombie A Day, check it out.
May 26 , 2009 Started a new sketch blog a week ago. It's called draw a Zombie A Day. For the next 365 days I will be making one zombie sketch, scribble, rendering, etc. and will post it on this blog! Maybe eventually I will print it all in one neat little book. That's if I last 365 days. ;) May 15 , 2009 I did a guest strip over at Subculture Comic. com! My friend Kevin and his wife recently had a baby (congrats!) and asked me and other amazing talented artists to fill in for his webcomic strip for a bit. The joke is an oldie but a goodie...I never tire the irony of "healthy diet" ( guilty myself of course, lol) Take a look at it, and see what yout think. I wa
Aprit 27 , 2009 I will be at Comic Fusion for Free Comic Book Day this Saturday! I will be doing free head sketches that day from 12-4. (Stop by if you can, this is the only day of the year I do free sketches! :D ) I will also be selling my comic, "The Key" #1, sketchbooks, and will maybe some small mini-prints for sale. There will be other artists there as well doing free sketches and did I say there will be free comics? :) To check it out , go to http://store.comicfusion.net Hope to see you there Saturday!! ^ _ ^ P.S. Due to unforseen expenses, I may not be doing Philadelphia Wizard World this year :( Aprit 12 , 2009 Just want to give a quick update on what's new . Wild Pig Sale was great, alot of fun , and I thank everyone that came to the show.I did some sketches at the show, but did not complete 24 of them in 24 hours. I think I did 15? So I didn't do too bad :) I have some of the sketches I did posted below, hope you enjoy them as much as I did! I like it alot when people challenge me with different ideas... makes it pretty fun to do :) II I Also I ended up picking up a few trades myself (how could I not? ) one of them being The Punisher "Frank's Back" by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion. I really liked it alot and was pretty funny through out the story. I would recommend it highly. Plus it has all the cool covers that Tim Bradstreet did for that run. Still working on the Key as we speak. As I mentioned in prior posts/ blogs I'm looking to have the second issue at Wizard World Philly. But to be honest, even though the book will be done- will I have it back in time from the printers? It's a bit hard to gauge cause this is their busy season with the shows coming up. So I'm pushing for end of June/Early July. After that I will be putting out each issue quarterly. I'm pretty happy getting back onto the series, feels a bit like home :)
March 28 , 2009 Just a reminder I will be at the 29 hour WIld Pig Sale tommorrow! If you happen to be in the North Jersey area, its worth the trip. Why? Well first off, everything in the store is 50% off! Nothing is marked up prior to the sale, everything is priced as is. That's right, trades, comics, and who know what other goodies will be available! I think they may even be selling DVDs this time around, sweet! The sale starts tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. and ends Sunday at 5 p.m. If you are planning to go, I recommend getting there early, the line gets long quick and parking goes quick! Also I I will be attempting to do 24 pin-ups in 24 hours. That's right 24 pin-ups in 24 hours! I will be charging $10 for pencil, and $15 for ink. These prices are for the sale only. Anyone that usually sees me at conventions, knows my prices usually start at $20 on up. And as promised I will be bringing the rough penciled pages of "the Key" #2 to the show. And as always I will be having "the Key" #1 and the ashcan for sale... And before I forget, there will be some fantastic artists coming as well attempting to create 24 page comics in 24 hours! • Webcomic sensation Danielle Corsetto of girlswithslingshots.com

Been a while since I've updated, been super busy with trying to catch up on everyone's commissions/work from 2008. I've also been working non-stop penciling "The Key" #3. Issue #2 is penciled, in progress of ink and color. Pretty confident in saying issue #2 will be available at Wizard World Philadelphia this June! It's official, the comic is back and will be put on a regular schedule...what does this mean? Well since the comic is pretty much all done by me, I may have to turn down any commissions or freelance work for a while.... as much as I love doing commissions, I may have to limit them if I ever want to finish this book! ^ _ ^ This isn't a complaint by no means on my part, I think it took so long to get back to "The Key" due to getting married last year took over my artistic life, literally! Which brings to...
I will be at the Wild PIg 29 hour sale from March 28th - 29th for 24 hours! Many of us will be attempting to do a 24 page comic within the 24 hours. I will be attempting to do 24 pin-ups in 24 hours. I will be charging $10 for pencil, and $15 for ink. As I mentioned in the prior paragraph, I'm working on "The Key" issue 2 and 3. I will be bringing pages of issue 2 for preview, so come by to check them out!
Also there will be some fantastic artists coming as well attempting to create 24 page comics in 24 hours!

p.s. Changed the format for the website...will be changing look as time moves on.

Wow, has it really been that long since I've last posted? Nothing really new to write about except that my day job has been keeping me really busy these past few months. ( And considering these hard times I'm really thankful ) But, you don't want to hear about that, lol. What I do want to talk about is "the Key". What's that? What's "the Key"? It's a comic of mine that has been kind of put to the wayside since its debut (year and half ago, gah that long???) but no longer! My number one question from everyone is when I go to shows is about the Key and its progress. I have decided a few months ago that I will not be putting out any more single issues of "the Key" out for print. With the cost of printing and being independant, it started to seem kind of silly for me to not think of this idea when I first started on it. ( Even though Chris has mentioned it from the start, just kind of um.. not listened? lol ) I have decided instead of putting out single issues, I 'm just doing one book. A trade! So what does this mean? you may ask. It means it will take a bit longer to finish the series and the entire story willl be contained in one shiny brand new trade paperback. :D
So what this means is , I have to do less conventions in 2009. (in order to get this done, and to pay for printing costs ) So this is where I need your help, what shows should I do in 2009? Help me decide which shows I should do. I'm planning on doing on doing 2-3 shows TOPS. Email me at hesseart@gmail.com with the tagline "shows" and give me your thoughts. Thanks and more news will be posted soon. Promise. :D
Here are some of the shows I have may or may not have attended.... Pittsburgh Comicon Wizard World Philadelphia Wizard World Chicago Baltimore Comicon

Thanks to everyone that showed up at Wild Pig yesterday! It was a complete blast! First time at the store and was super impressed with the selection of trades! Was very hard to pick a few that I had on my "want" list, hehehe. And bad me, I already read both of them in one sitting today! ;)
On another note, I have some Marvel Masterpiece Artist Proof cards up on ebay!! Check them out here.. One is a smokin' Black Cat and an uber hot Electra as a skrull!! Good luck and hoping these babies go to a good
Electra/Skrull Artist Proof Card!
